Papers consist of research notes and related materials collected for Theodore Newton Farris' Ph.D. dissertation, "Severance Taxation in Louisiana," which he wrote for the George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville, Tenn., in 1937. Included are copies of bills, acts, and ordinances concerning taxation and reports on the fiscal administration of Louisiana State University.
